Scott and I had the privilege of going to Churchill Downs to the Kentucky Oaks race this month. The Oaks is held the Friday before Derby and all the the winning filly (female horse) gets a garland of lillies instead of a garland of roses that the Derby winner gets. They serve Mint Juleps at Oaks, but the signature drink of the day is The Lilly and it's pink (the first picture has a few "Lillies"). My favorite sorority sister Katy organized the trip and we had a wonderful time! Neither Scott nor I had been to Churchill before and we are more than ready to go back!
